The leaders of ACT OF GRACE are born again Christians “who revere God’s name”. We intentionally seek to train appropriate Bible believing staff drawn from all church backgrounds. Staff members will unashamedly point those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS to Jesus Christ, who has the power to forgive, heal and to restore anyone regardless of what they have done and to care for AIDS patients and raise aids orphans in a Christian environment.
There is a desperate need for child care in the City of Cape Town. In the past two years, members of Act of Grace have networked with Churches, NGO’s, NPO’s and other organizations to determine the first priority for child care in the City of Cape Town.
There was a definite difference in child care management in the different suburbs and townships. In Khayelitsha for instance, most of the HIV orphans have been taken in by Church families to provide shelter. It has however been established that most of these children do not receive proper meals, do not attend schools, and have not been referred to after school programs or been given any counseling regarding their current position.
We as Act of Grace endorse Church based homecare as the primary objective and method of caring for Aids orphans and vulnerable children. Our endeavor is to assist the Church based homecare model in providing a safe haven for HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable. Children are admitted into a system of proper care, nutrition and treatment. With this great opportunity of connecting and identifying HIV orphans and vulnerable children, we mobilize and assist the Church to care for more children. It assists Church families to provide shelter; it provides training, counseling and support.
Every person in the township is affected by daily challenges and the government cannot be expected to cope with all these needs. Confronted with these challenges Act of Grace, prompted and convicted through the love of Jesus Christ, started and intends to stand up and work towards transforming the communities of the City of Cape Town in association with all the other organizations involved, into a better place for everyone.
